The mouth is a twisted wire, sweet iron mouth for better control and ''no pinch'' double wrap around rings. This is a good little bit to work on horses that have been started. The dog bone in the center of the 5'' mouth signals the horse slightly before the bit engages to produce quicker response. It also works well to tune up older horses.
