My horse moved happily with the Myler Comfort Snaffle 04 level 2 bit immediately upon trying it. It has improved relaxation in dressage and control during cross-country gallops for my off-the-track thoroughbred. I asked my vet to evaluate its fit and action; he thought its articulation was very nice within the horse's mouth and highly approved its use. I would prefer an eggbutt rather than dee end, because the corner of the dee is close to the face of the horse and looks like it could rub, but the eggbutt was not available in the size my horse required. I have seen no signs of rub marks, though. The bit is very narrow, which could be harsh if a heavy handed rider used it, but it allows for very subtle aids; it is ideal for a sensitive horse and rider.

I have now been using the Myler 04 Comfort Snaffle, level 2, bit on my OTTB for a couple of weeks, and the horse is transformed by it. She is much more relaxed than before, raising her topline, and accepting it without any tendency to back off of it in the dressage arena. Surprisingly, it also offers better control than anything I have used cross-country, for she no longer leans on the bit but happily works with me when we gallop. I would recommend this bit for any person with sensitive hands, for it articulates well, and the rider can work subtly with it.
