I haven't had a chance to ride in them yet because it has been so cold and icy here. However, I have been doing chores in them almost everyday here in Fargo, ND. The temperature has been around 0 degrees F most days with the windchills below 0. I wear a thick pair of socks with these boots and go outside for about 1-2 hours in the cold in them. My feet have yet to get cold wearing them! They are very comfortable after about 2-3 times of wearing them, they took a few times to break in at the ankle. The only thing I do not like about these boots are the zippers. If you don't have your foot and leg angled just right with material from your pants/sock away from the ankle part of the zipper, they are very hard to zip around the ankle. Once you get past the ankle they zip right up. I think it is in part of the curve of the zipper at that area. The zipper acts like it is stuck on something, but it isn't. You just have to rotate your foot and leg some to line up the zipper to its preferred postion to be zipped. Other than that the boots are great! So far they are holding up nice. You just can't beat the warmth. Even if you just use them as chore boots they are great. I can't wait to ride in them, but have to wait for the temperature to be at least in the 20s. Another great Mountain Horse product!
