Short calf version is perfect!

The short calf version of the winter riding boots is perfect for me. I tried on a pair of the regular calf model in a store, and they were just too tall for me. With the single digit temperatures this winter, I've stayed warm and dry with these great boots!

Was excited to get the boots, but they didn't fit

They don't have 1/2 sizes so the 8 wouldn't zip up & the 9 was too big in the foot & broke across the leg funny. 9 was also to tall. Sorry they didn't work.

I love these boots

I live in MN and I wear these for both chores and riding, and they keep my feet nice and warm. They look nice, are durable, and I love the wrap around zipper.

I have had these boots for about 2 weeks now

I haven't had a chance to ride in them yet because it has been so cold and icy here. However, I have been doing chores in them almost everyday here in Fargo, ND. The temperature has been around 0 degrees F most days with the windchills below 0. I wear a thick pair of socks with these boots and go outside for about 1-2 hours in the cold in them. My feet have yet to get cold wearing them! They are very comfortable after about 2-3 times of wearing them, they took a few times to break in at the ankle. The only thing I do not like about these boots are the zippers. If you don't have your foot and leg angled just right with material from your pants/sock away from the ankle part of the zipper, they are very hard to zip around the ankle. Once you get past the ankle they zip right up. I think it is in part of the curve of the zipper at that area. The zipper acts like it is stuck on something, but it isn't. You just have to rotate your foot and leg some to line up the zipper to its preferred postion to be zipped. Other than that the boots are great! So far they are holding up nice. You just can't beat the warmth. Even if you just use them as chore boots they are great. I can't wait to ride in them, but have to wait for the temperature to be at least in the 20s. Another great Mountain Horse product!

I chose these winter boots because I read that they are a bit slimmer than some others and they come in short. Walking around the fit is good, stiff in the ankles, but I expected that and got these mostly for riding. I wanted to like them so much but they are downright painful to ride in! Something about the shape makes my foot turn under and puts a lot of pressure on my ankle and outside calf. Since I wore them outside it's too late to return them. I have no choice but to hope they break in, but it was so uncomfortable the first time I dread wearing them again! They do seem to be good quality, and are definitely warm.

Hands down BEST winter riding boots

Easy on/off. Keep my feet warm throughout the ride (which is not easy). The zipper along the side/back is a nice addition. They are slim enough to not feel "bulky". I can even jump in these witner boots!
