I ride in an indoor arena, but tack up in the barn and move horse from paddock to barn to arena. They are not waterproof, so different gloves are needed if you're dealing with snow, ice or mud / picking hooves. The feel on the reins is great because they are not bulky or padded. The only improvement could be adding reinforcements to finger tips. Over time, buckles on tack/billets/girth will wear the fabric and tear through the top layer (not all the way through). My first pair lasted 2 seasons, and I ride all winter at least 3x week. I bought two pair so I have a back up, and use my old pair for grooming/ tacking.
