Specifically looked for the Eggbutt

A little difficult to find until we landed here. We have two horses in this now. One in 5 and one in 5.5. Both take to it very well. It is comfortable to the horses with the curvature yet provides the right attention in the mouth when needed. No other extra gear needed. Both horses are jumpers. Weight is just right.

I love the shape of these Korsteel bits (I also have a loose ring snaffle bit), and decided to try the eggbutt style, to avoid any possible pinching of the horse's lips with a loose ring. The bit is lovely looking, heavy, nicely balanced but it squeaks horribly! I'm going to try applying cooking oil, to see if I can temporarily reduce the terrible sound! Not sure if the squeaking indicates undue friction, which might affect the durability of the item? If it weren't for that unexpected aspect, I'd have rated the bit as 10s.
