A Guide to Hoof Boots
There are basically two kinds of Hoof Boots that you might consider using for your horse or pony - An Easy Boot type that becomes a substitute for a horse shoe, and a Therapeutic boot that is used for soaking or protecting a hoof that has an abscess or other issue.
Shoeless Horses
Many horse owners are choosing to go have their horses go shoeless. Many of these owners are Endurance or Trail Riders - where losing a traditional shoe could severely impact both horse and rider. A hoof boot like an Easy Boot provides the protection and traction a horse might need for the rider, or portion of the ride - and the rider can carry a couple of "spares" along as well.
Emergency
Other horse owners use this kind of horse boot as an "emergency" boot to tide their horse over or allow it to be ridden until the Farrier arrives to replace a pulled shoe.
Therapeutic Horse Boots
Every horse owner should have some kind of Therapeutic Horse Boot for soaking their horse's hoof or for applying medication. Choose from our selection in sizes from tiny to huge!!
