Side Zips for Showing!

If your daughter shows hunt seat, she will eventually need a pair of traditional, tan, side zip riding breeches.

While tights and front zips are acceptable at the lower levels of showing, once your child reaches "rated" shows, side zip breeches are standard for girls wearing tall boots. Show breeches for hunt seat riders are almost always tan or beige, side zip, have belt loops, and are slightly looser fit with heavier fabric than schooling breeches.

While you can probably get away with owning only one pair of show breeches, if you can afford it, it is nice to have two. That way, at the lessons just before a big show, your child can practice in the breeches they will show in. Especially if your child normally wears riding tights, show breeches will feel a bit different in the saddle and it is a good idea for them to get accustomed to it.
