Prevent Ulcers with GastroMax3

GastroMax3 helps to prevent ulcers in horses. It works to reduce and neutralize the acid in the stomach in once daily doses.

GastroMax3 contains the active ingredients:

• Soduim Acid Carbonate, binds with acid reducing pH so Omeprazole can work more affectively
• Omeprazole (5.5-7.5g/oz), reduces acid production at the cellular level
• L-Glutamine (2.79-3.78g/oz), decreases stomach inflammation and promotes ulcer healing

These ingredients have been tested and proven safe. The work together to reduce the amount of stomach acid and promote the healing of ulcers, not just alleviate the clinical signs. Because horses are designed to be grazers, eating constantly, normal constant acid production in the stomach will increase the risk that show/race horses will get ulcers. Other causes may include stall confinement, high grain diets, strenuous exercise, and chronic administration of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine.

This is for use in healthy horses that weight over 600lbs (273kgs) to 1200lbs (545kgs).  It is safe in breeding stallions, but safety in pregnant mares is undetermined.

Since GastroMax3 is for use only in the prevention of ulcers, if your horse has any of the following symptoms contact your veterinarian for diagnosis and treatment, your horse may have stomach ulcers. The following symptoms can be associated with other diseases as well.   

• decreased appetite
• recurrent colic
• intermittent loose stool/diarrhea
• poor hair coat
• poor body condition
• poor performance

The minimum daily dosage for horses 600-1200lbs is 45mg/lb a day, or 1/4 of a syringe. Horses over 1200lbs need two doses daily. For horses under 600lbs, contact a veterinarian.
